We suggest to prepare Three-layer “Fairy Tale” cake.
Ingredients:
For the chocolate layer:
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp baking soda/vinegar
For the poppy seed layer:
- 40g poppy seeds
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp baking soda/vinegar
For the walnut layer:
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp baking soda/vinegar
For the cream:
- 1 can condensed milk
- 200g butter
Instructions:
Prepare several layers with different ingredient compositions.
- Chocolate layer: Beat eggs with sugar until frothy, add butter and sour cream, beat again, add baking soda, flour, and cocoa.
- Poppy seed layer: Same ingredients as for the chocolate layer, but instead of cocoa, add poppy seeds that have been previously scalded with boiling water.
- Walnut layer: For the third layer, add 1 cup of crushed walnuts.
- Cream: Prepare the cream by beating softened butter with condensed milk until smooth. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. You can add raisins if desired.
Bake each layer separately in a greased pan for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through. Check with a toothpick. Cool the layers completely. Spread the cooled cream between the layers and on top and sides of the cake. Refrigerate the “Fairy Tale” cake for 8-12 hours or overnight.
Tip:
Decorate the top of the cake with grated dark chocolate or colorful sprinkles.
