We offer you to prepare Thai Pork and Shrimp Dumplings (Kanom Jeeb).
Ingredients:
Main Ingredients
- 375 g minced pork
- 1 coriander root (ground)
- 1½ teaspoons black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1.25 cm ginger (grated)
- 150 g raw shrimp (finely chopped)
- 1½ tablespoons fish sauce
- 1½ teaspoons oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon palm sugar
- ½ teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 large egg
- 1 shallot stalk
- 30 pieces of wonton wrappers for Thai dumplings
Garlic Oil
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 5 cloves garlic (thinly sliced)
Sauce
- 3 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1½ tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon cilantro (finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon red chili (finely chopped)
Preparation:
- In a large bowl, mix all the main ingredients until they are well combined.
- Scoop about 1½ tablespoons of the mixture and place it on a wonton wrapper for Thai dumplings, squeeze the mixture and form a dumpling.
- Place the finished dumplings in a steamer.
- To prepare the garlic oil, heat the oil in a small skillet and fry the garlic cloves until golden brown. After frying, separate the garlic cloves and oil.
- Brush each dumpling with garlic oil and steam for 8-10 minutes or until cooked through.
- To make the sauce, combine all the sauce ingredients and mix well.
Garnish the Thai Pork and Shrimp Dumplings (Kanom Jeeb) with fried garlic pieces and cilantro and serve with the sauce. Enjoy your meal!
