Stewed fish with vegetables in Chinese style

We suggest preparing Stewed Fish with Vegetables in Chinese Style.

Ingredients:

  • Fish fillet – 400 grams (any fish fillet)
  • Egg whites – 2 pcs
  • Bell pepper – 1 pc
  • Cucumber – 1 pc
  • Canned bamboo shoots – 100 grams (or canned beans)
  • Water – 200 ml
  • Sugar – 4 tbsp
  • Soy sauce – 3 tbsp
  • Rice vinegar – 2 tbsp
  • Starch – 3 tbsp

Preparation:

  1. Cut the fish fillet into medium-sized pieces, not too big but not too small. Beat the egg whites with a mixer and pour them over the fish pieces. Mix well.
  2. Place the starch on a plate. Coat each piece of fish in starch and fry them in a pan. Fry the pieces in batches. Brown them on both sides until golden and transfer to a plate.
  3. While the fish is frying, prepare the vegetables. Cut the bell pepper into thin strips and the cucumber into cubes. Place them in the pan. Add the bamboo shoots. Once the vegetables are sautéed, transfer them to the fish.
  4. In the same pan, pour the water, add 3 tablespoons of sugar, soy sauce, and vinegar, and bring it to a boil. Let the liquid reduce slightly to prevent the dish from becoming too watery.
  5. Add the vegetables back to the pan, stir well, sauté for another minute, and remove from heat.
