Smørrebrød with Blue Cheese

We offer to prepare a Danish dish – Smørrebrød with blue cheese.

Smørrebrød (Danish: Smørrebrød) is a traditional Danish open sandwich, which usually consists of a piece of rye bread (rugbrød – a dense Danish sourdough rye bread) and various toppings and spreads.

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice of rugbrød bread. If you do not have Danish rugbrød, replace it with whole grain rye bread.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of unsalted butter, slightly softened
  • 1/4 pear, thinly sliced lengthwise
  • 1 tablespoon of blue cheese, crumbled
  • 2 teaspoons of toasted hazelnuts, chopped

Preparation:

  1. Evenly spread the butter over the entire top side of the bread.
  2. Arrange the pear slices on the bread so that they slightly overlap.
  3. Sprinkle with crumbled blue cheese on top, and sprinkle with toasted hazelnuts over it.

Smørrebrød with blue cheese is ready. Enjoy!
