The built-in radio receiver in a shower cabin is perhaps one of its most popular features. We listen to the radio while driving, working in the garden, or sunbathing on the beach. Now, you can enjoy it while taking a shower as well. It’s especially convenient to listen to the news in the morning or evening, but most often, the radio is used in shower cabins equipped with a hydromassage or Finnish sauna function. Since these procedures take quite a long time, the radio helps pass the time without boredom. However, after purchasing a new shower cabin or experiencing operational issues, you may need to set up the built-in radio.
How to Set Up the Radio
To set up the built-in radio in your shower cabin, you first need to connect the cabin to electricity. This requires installing a socket in the bathroom with an additional moisture protection class. Once all electrical work is completed, you can proceed directly to setting up the radio.
The radio (FM 87.5 – 108 MHz) is controlled via the cabin’s control panel. To start, press RST (reset) – this will set the frequency to 87.5 MHz. Then, press TUN (tune) to automatically scan for radio stations in the range of 87.5 to 108 MHz. The automatic tuning will stop once the first active station is found. You can either listen to it or press the TUN button again to search for another station that suits your taste.
To restart the search, simply press the RST button once, which will reset the frequency and begin the search from the beginning. The volume can be adjusted using the VOL- and VOL+ buttons.
Why the Radio Isn’t Working – Causes and Solutions
No Sound from the Speaker:
- The station volume is too low – increase the volume.
- The speaker is not properly connected – reconnect the speaker line or replace the speaker.
- The control panel is malfunctioning – replace the control panel components.
- No audio signal output on sound frequencies – check the audio connection.
Poor Radio Signal:
- The antenna is not extended or is incorrectly positioned – extend the antenna and secure it properly.
- The frequency is not tuning properly – the user may be in an area with a weak signal.
The Radio Won’t Turn On:
- Incorrect wiring connection – check the wiring connections.
- The controller has failed – inspect it yourself or call a specialist.
If the settings do not help and the receiver previously worked fine, the issue is most likely with the electronics. In this case, the device needs to be disassembled, the circuit board removed, and the condition of the components checked.
