We invite you to prepare a delicious and unique dish – Salmon Baked in Puff Pastry with Spinach. A crispy golden crust on the outside and flavorful salmon with spinach on the inside make for a stunning and mouthwatering meal!
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of ready-made puff pastry (about 300 g; you can make it from scratch if preferred)
- 450 g of frozen spinach leaves
- 1 onion
- 2–3 garlic cloves
- 100 g of Ricotta cheese
- 1/4 block of unsalted butter
- About 600 g of skinless salmon fillet
- 1 egg
- Salt
- Pepper
Preparation:
- Prepare the Salmon: Season the salmon fillet with salt and pepper. If the fillet has skin, remove it first.
- Cook the Spinach Filling:
- In a deep frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté for a few minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the thawed spinach and sauté until fully combined.
- Season with salt and pepper, then turn off the heat. Stir in the Ricotta cheese and mix thoroughly.
- Prepare the Pastry:
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into strips so you can wrap it in the shape of a Christmas tree.
- Place the spinach mixture in the center of the pastry. Lay the salmon fillet on top of the spinach mixture.
- Fold the pastry strips over the filling, alternating sides to create a braided pattern resembling a tree. Brush the pastry with the beaten egg.
- Bake the Dish:
- Place the wrapped salmon on a parchment-lined baking tray.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for 25–30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Serve:
- Remove the pastry from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Slice into portions and serve warm.
