Salad with Herring, Green Peas and Onion

We suggest preparing a Salad with Herring, Green Peas and Onion.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lightly salted herring
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 can of green peas
  • A small bunch of fresh dill
  • 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon of wine or balsamic vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Clean the herring by removing the head, entrails, and bones, leaving only the fillet. Drain the liquid from the green peas. Peel and wash the onion. Rinse the dill under running water and pat it dry.
  2. Slice the herring fillet into thin strips and place them in a bowl where all the ingredients will be mixed.
  3. Cut the onion into half-rings and add it to the herring. Add the green peas and mix everything well.
  4. Prepare the dressing: in a small bowl, combine the vegetable oil, vinegar, and finely chopped dill. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Pour the dressing over the salad and let it sit in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes, covering the bowl with plastic wrap.
