Romanian Bean Spread (fasole făcăluită)

We suggest preparing a dish of Romanian and Moldovan cuisine, Romanian Bean Spread (fasole făcăluită).

Ingredients:

  • 500g beans
  • 50ml oil
  • 2 onions
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt

Preparation:

  1. Place the beans in a pot and cover with cold water. Leave to soak overnight so they cook more easily.
  2. The next day, boil the beans. Separately, in another pot, boil water and add the beans. When the water with the beans boils, wait 10 minutes, then strain, drain the water, and put the beans to boil in fresh water. Repeat this 3 times. Add salt to the last water and leave on the heat for 30-40 minutes (or until the beans are well cooked).
  3. Meanwhile, peel and finely chop the onions. Fry for a few minutes in a small amount of oil, and when they become translucent, mix with paprika.
  4. Drain the well-cooked beans and place them in a blender. Blend until a paste forms.
  5. Crush the garlic and mix with the beans. Add oil and salt. Place the resulting paste in a bowl and garnish with the fried onions.

Romanian Bean Spread (fasole făcăluită) is ready. The dish is served with hot peppers. Enjoy your meal!
