Potato Pancakes with Cream Cheese and Salmon

We invite you to prepare Potato Pancakes with Cream Cheese and Salmon.

Ingredients:

  • 8 medium-sized potatoes
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 3-4 tablespoons of flour
  • ½ teaspoon of baking powder (optional)
  • 1 Maggi bouillon cube
  • Salt and pepper

Additional ingredients:

  • 150 g of cream cheese (spreadable)
  • 2 tablespoons of thick sour cream
  • 100 g of smoked salmon
  • Dill
  • Cooking oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the potato mixture: Grate the potatoes finely or process them in a food processor. Then grate the onion and the clove of garlic. Drain any excess starch from the mixture. Crack the egg into the mixture, add the flour, and the baking powder. Season with salt, pepper, and crumble in the Maggi bouillon cube. The mixture should have a distinct flavor.
  2. Fry the pancakes: Heat oil in a pan and fry the pancakes until golden brown on both sides. Once fried, place the pancakes on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  3. Prepare the topping: In a bowl, combine the cream cheese with sour cream. Spread this mixture over the pancakes. Top each pancake with a slice of smoked salmon. Garnish with a sprig of dill.
