Pork in Honey Sauce with Sesame Seeds

We suggest preparing pork in honey sauce with sesame seeds. If you don’t like honey, you can replace it in the sauce with apricot or fig jam, or orange marmalade.

Ingredients:

  • 600-800 g of pork neck meat
  • 1 small bunch of green onions
  • Cornstarch
  • Oil
  • Salt, ground black pepper
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Sesame seeds for serving

For the sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar

Preparation:

  1. Cut the meat into cubes about 2 cm in size, season with salt and pepper, and mix well with your hands. Let the meat sit for 10 minutes.
  2. For the sauce, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, vinegar, honey, and ½ cup of warm water. Chop the green onions into small pieces.
  3. Heat a large pan with a 2 cm layer of oil. Sprinkle the meat with cornstarch and coat it thoroughly. Shake off the excess starch and fry the meat over high heat until golden brown on all sides. Place the cooked meat on paper towels.
  4. Once all the meat is ready, drain the oil from the pan and pour in the sauce. Bring it to a boil and cook for 1 minute. Add the meat to the sauce, cook over high heat, stirring well, for about 5 minutes. The sauce should nearly evaporate.
  5. Sprinkle the pork with green onions and sesame seeds, mix, top with red pepper flakes, and serve.

Pork in honey sauce with sesame seeds is ready. Enjoy your meal!
