Pickled Cucumbers in a 3-Liter Jar

We suggest you make pickled cucumbers in a 3-liter jar. In the summer season, when there are many fresh vegetables in the garden, you can treat your loved ones to crispy lightly salted cucumbers. They are prepared simply and, depending on the result you want to get, you can marinate them from one to three days.

Ingredients:

  • Cucumbers 1.5 – 2 kg
  • Salt 2 tbsp.
  • Blackcurrant leaves 5-6 pcs.
  • Horseradish leaves 2-3 pcs.
  • Garlic 1 head
  • Oak bark 50 gr.
  • Dill 20 gr.

Preparation:

  • Wash the cucumbers, dill, horseradish leaves, and blackcurrant leaves under cold water.
  • Pour cold water over the cucumbers and leave for 5-10 minutes.
  • Peel the garlic and cut it into slices. Finely chop the greens with a knife. Oak bark can be purchased at a pharmacy, it will give the cucumbers a special flavor.
  • Place 1/3 of the greens and garlic at the bottom of a three-liter jar.
  • Cut off the tips of the cucumbers and tightly place the first layer of vegetables at the bottom of the jar. Place the second part of the spices on top.
  • Add cucumbers to the top in random order and place the remaining spices on top.
  • Dissolve 2 tablespoons of salt in 1.5-2 liters of water and pour the brine over the cucumbers, cover the jar with a lid.
  • Leave the cucumbers for 1-3 days in a cool place, but not in the refrigerator. As soon as a milky foam appears on the cucumbers, they are ready, you can tightly close them with a lid and put them in the refrigerator for storage.
