Perfect Grapefruit and Rosemary Gin Cocktail

Looking for a new, refreshing drink to welcome the weekend? This beautiful blush-pink cocktail is light, aromatic, and surprisingly simple to make. With its sophisticated flavor, the Grapefruit and Rosemary Gin Cocktail is perfect for a quiet evening at home or a lively get-together with friends. You don’t need any fancy bartending skills—just fresh ingredients and a good mood!

Ingredients (for 2 servings):

  • Fresh Grapefruit Juice: 1-2 cups (from about 4 pink grapefruits)
  • Gin: 50 ml (about 1.7 oz)
  • Rosemary Simple Syrup: 50 ml (about 1.7 oz), see recipe below
  • Ice: 10 cubes

For the Rosemary Simple Syrup:

  • Fresh Rosemary: 2 sprigs
  • Sugar: 45 g (about 3 tbsp)
  • Water: 75 ml (about 5 tbsp)

For Garnish:

  • Pink Grapefruit: 2 small slices on skewers
  • Fresh Rosemary: 2 sprigs

Preparation:

  1. Make the Rosemary Simple Syrup: In a small pot, combine the water, sugar, and rosemary sprigs. Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from the heat and let the syrup cool down.
  2. Mix the Cocktail: Squeeze the fresh juice from the grapefruits. In a cocktail shaker (or a jar with a lid), add the grapefruit juice, gin, rosemary syrup, and ice. Shake well until the mixture is chilled and slightly frothy.
  3. Serve: Pour the cocktail into two chilled glasses. Garnish each glass with a grapefruit slice on a skewer and a fresh sprig of rosemary.

Enjoy your delicious drink!

Tips and Variations:

  • Make it a Mocktail: For a non-alcoholic version, simply replace the gin with sparkling water or tonic.
  • A Taste of Honey: For a richer flavor, you can substitute honey for sugar in the simple syrup.
  • Sweet Rim: To make it feel extra special, wet the rim of the glass with a little grapefruit juice and dip it in sugar for a sweet, sparkling edge.

This cocktail is a wonderful addition to any dinner party or relaxing evening on the patio. The combination of bright citrus and earthy rosemary is truly a treat for the senses!
