We suggest making Pappardelle with Mushrooms. A classic Italian pasta dish featuring wide, flat noodles.
Ingredients:
- 200g pappardelle pasta
- 200g mushrooms (such as porcini or cremini)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 50g butter
- 150ml white wine
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the mushrooms: Clean the mushrooms and slice them about 1/4 inch thick.
- Sauté the garlic: Crush the garlic cloves with the flat side of a knife. Heat the olive oil in a skillet and add the garlic. Cook until fragrant, then remove and discard.
- Cook the mushrooms: Add the butter to the skillet and melt. Add the mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, or until tender.
- Deglaze the pan: Increase the heat and pour in the white wine. Let it reduce until most of the liquid has evaporated, leaving a concentrated sauce.
- Cook the pasta: Cook the pappardelle according to the package instructions until al dente.
- Combine: Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet with the mushrooms and sauce. Toss to coat, then stir in the Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately: Divide the pasta among plates and serve hot.
Enjoy your homemade pappardelle with mushrooms!
Tips:
- For a richer flavor, use dried porcini mushrooms rehydrated in warm water.
- To make the dish creamier, add a splash of heavy cream to the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary for an extra layer of flavor.
