Oyster Pie

We suggest preparing Oyster Pie. Since the flavor of oysters is very delicate, this recipe requires only a few seasonings, and during cooking, the oyster flavor infuses into the vegetables.

Ingredients:

  • 6 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 stalk of celery, finely chopped
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 kg of fresh oysters with their liquid
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup butter
  • Pie crust (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions:

  1. In a deep pan, combine the 6 medium diced potatoes, 1 finely chopped celery stalk, and 3 sliced carrots. Pour in 2 cups of chicken broth, simmer until almost tender, and mash with a fork.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  3. Drain the liquid and place the vegetables into a 2-liter oven dish. Add the oysters (with their liquid). Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of salt and ½ teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper, then dot with ¼ cup of butter.
  4. Cover with the pie crust and bake until the crust turns golden brown, about 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve hot.
