Lazy Cabbage Rolls

We suggest making Lazy Cabbage Rolls.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken mince (preferably half white meat + half dark meat) – 350 g;
  • White cabbage (shredded) – 70-80 g;
  • Egg – 1;
  • White bread – 3 slices;
  • Salt, sugar, spices, black pepper (to taste);
  • Semolina – 2 tbsp;
  • Fresh tomatoes – 2;
  • Onion (1 for the mince, 0.5 for the sauce) – 1.5;
  • Tomato paste – 1 tbsp;
  • Water (or broth) – 250 ml;
  • Bay leaves – 2;
  • Garlic – 2 cloves;
  • Oil (for frying);
  • Flour (for breading).

Preparation:

Prepare the mince by grinding the chicken meat with an onion in a meat grinder. Finely shred the cabbage, then chop it, lightly salt, and knead with your hands. Add the cabbage to the mince. Season with salt, spices, and pepper. Mix the mince well and add the egg. Also, add the semolina and the white bread soaked in milk or water and squeezed out. Mix the mince thoroughly again.

With wet hands, form patties and coat them in flour. Fry the patties in oil until golden brown on both sides over medium heat.

Next, the patties need to be simmered in tomato sauce. This can be done in a slow cooker. Pour a little oil into the slow cooker bowl, add the chopped onion, and sauté using the “Fry” setting. Add the chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, a pinch of spices, a little sugar, and pour in the water. Bring the sauce to a boil using the “Stew” or “Steam” setting. Add the chopped garlic and bay leaves to the sauce. Place the patties in the bowl and set the “Stew” program for 15 minutes.

Delicious Lazy Cabbage Rolls are ready to serve with any side dish. Enjoy!
