Homemakers who make homemade preserves often reuse glass jars. It’s great to try your hand at creating your own culinary masterpiece. You just need to wash your favorite jar, sterilize it, and fill it with the desired drink or product. But to make homemade preserves look beautiful and impressive, it’s desirable to remove labels from glass jar. How to do this without unnecessary effort and nerves?
Simple Method for Weak Glue:
- Place the jar in a container with hot water and dissolve dishwashing detergent in it.
- Wait a couple of hours and wipe off the sticky paper with the rough side of a kitchen sponge.
- Rinse the glassware with plain water.
Method for Strong Glue:
To remove the label from a glass jar and get rid of the paper with the logo, pour hot water into the container, close the lid and wait 5-10 minutes.
- Take a knife and carefully peel off the label.
- When only traces of glue remain on the surface, wipe them with a sponge soaked in acetone or a harsh nail polish remover.
Universal Method:
- Apply oil (body or sunflower) to the jar and leave it for 5-10 minutes. During this time, it will be absorbed into the paper.
- Rub the sticker with the rough side of a sponge.
- Wash the jar using dishwashing detergent. This will remove the oil and grease.
Technical Method:
- Wash the containers in the dishwasher.
- After the procedure, rinse off any remaining glue with a solvent.
Old Proven Method:
- Take a basin and pour hot water into it.
- Add soda or dry mustard powder.
- Place the jars there overnight.
- In the morning, you can simply wash off the labels with detergent and clean water.
Soda Method:
You will need baking soda. Measure out a couple of tablespoons and add a few drops of water to make a paste.
- Wipe the traces of the sticker with this product.
Method using a hair dryer:
- Take an electrical appliance and direct it at the paper.
- Heat the glass at maximum power.
- After a while, the glue will come off the surface. You can pick up the label and carefully remove it completely.
If the glass is a little sticky, wipe it with a cotton pad soaked in nail polish remover.
