Homemade Soy Patties

We invite you to try making Homemade Soy Patties. Rich in protein, these soy patties are an excellent substitute for meat.

Ingredients:

(Makes approximately 8 patties)

  • About 350 g (12 oz) soybeans
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Salt, pepper, paprika, chili pepper, nutmeg
  • Thyme, parsley
  • Breadcrumbs

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the soybeans.
The evening before cooking, soak the soybeans in water and let them sit overnight. The next day, replace the water and cook the soybeans for about 2 hours until tender.
  2. Sauté the onion.
Chop the onions into small cubes and sauté them in a skillet until golden.
  3. Mash the soybeans.
Drain the cooked soybeans and blend them using a blender or a meat grinder. Add the sautéed onion, minced garlic, and spices. Be generous with the spices, as soybeans themselves have a neutral flavor.
  4. Form the patties.
Add the eggs to the soybean mixture and mix everything until it forms a uniform consistency. Shape the mixture into patties, coat them in breadcrumbs (or bran for a healthier option), and fry them in oil on both sides until golden brown.

Homemade Soy Patties are ready to serve. Enjoy!
