We suggest making doughnuts in syrup.
Ingredients:
- Wheat flour – 150 g
- Water – 750 ml
- Sugar – 250 g
- Eggs – 2 pcs.
- Butter – 50 g
- Lemon – 0.5 pcs.
- Sunflower oil – 200 ml
- Salt – a pinch
- Walnuts – to taste
Preparation:
- To make the sugar syrup, mix 500 ml of water, sugar, and the juice of half a lemon in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 10 minutes over low heat until the syrup thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- In a separate pot, combine 250 ml of water, butter, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat until smooth. Then add the sifted flour and stir constantly with a spatula until the dough forms and easily pulls away from the sides. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Gradually add eggs to the warm dough, mixing thoroughly after each addition. The dough should be soft and similar to plasticine in consistency. Divide it into small pieces, about the size of a quail egg. Roll each piece into a ball and make a small indentation in the center with your finger.
- Heat the oil in a deep skillet and place the dough balls into it. Fry the doughnuts until they are golden brown on all sides, then remove with a slotted spoon and place them in the sugar syrup.
- Gently stir to ensure each doughnut is fully coated in syrup. Chop the walnuts with a knife or blender and place them in the indentations of the doughnuts.
Doughnuts in syrup are ready. Enjoy!
