Let’s make a Cosmopolitan Cocktail!
The Cosmopolitan is believed to have been invented in the 1970s, possibly by several bartenders independently (though this is unlikely). Some believe it was Neil Murray, an employee of the Cork & Cleaver steakhouse in Minneapolis. John Caine, who owned several bars on the San Francisco coast at the time, may also have contributed. However, the most credible version credits the recipe to Cheryl Cook, a bartender at Florida’s South Beach.
Ingredients:
- 40 ml Citron vodka
- 15 ml Cointreau
- 15 ml lime juice
- 30 ml cranberry juice
Instructions:
- Chill a cocktail glass.
- Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice.
- Shake well and strain into the chilled glass.
- Garnish with a lime wedge or an orange twist.
- Your Cosmopolitan is ready! Enjoy!
Variations: Cosmopolitan Cocktail is easy to make. You can experiment with the recipe: replace the vodka with regular vodka and a bit of citrus juice. Lime juice can be substituted with lemon juice. This way, you can easily transform a glamorous drink into a more casual one.
