This classic tiramisu recipe is a delightful and easy-to-make dessert. Layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and a creamy mascarpone filling come together to create a truly indulgent treat.

Ingredients:

  • 250g mascarpone cheese
  • 125ml strong, sweetened coffee
  • 50g powdered sugar
  • 50ml Baileys liqueur
  • 8-12 ladyfingers
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • Mint for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the coffee: Brew a strong cup of coffee and sweeten to taste. Stir in the Baileys liqueur.
  2. Whip the eggs: Beat the egg yolks and powdered sugar until pale and creamy. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  3. Combine ingredients: Beat the mascarpone cheese until smooth. Gradually fold in the egg yolk mixture, then gently fold in the whipped egg whites.
  4. Assemble the tiramisu: Dip the ladyfingers briefly in the coffee mixture and arrange them in a dish. Spread a layer of the mascarpone cream on top. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cream.
  5. Finish: Dust the top with cocoa powder through a sieve. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  6. Serve: Garnish with mint leaves and enjoy.

Enjoy your homemade classic tiramisu!

Note: To avoid the risk of foodborne illness, it’s recommended to use pasteurized eggs when making desserts that include raw eggs. Alternatively, you can use mascarpone that already contains egg yolks.
