This classic tiramisu recipe is a delightful and easy-to-make dessert. Layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and a creamy mascarpone filling come together to create a truly indulgent treat.
Ingredients:
- 250g mascarpone cheese
- 125ml strong, sweetened coffee
- 50g powdered sugar
- 50ml Baileys liqueur
- 8-12 ladyfingers
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 egg white
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- Mint for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare the coffee: Brew a strong cup of coffee and sweeten to taste. Stir in the Baileys liqueur.
- Whip the eggs: Beat the egg yolks and powdered sugar until pale and creamy. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Combine ingredients: Beat the mascarpone cheese until smooth. Gradually fold in the egg yolk mixture, then gently fold in the whipped egg whites.
- Assemble the tiramisu: Dip the ladyfingers briefly in the coffee mixture and arrange them in a dish. Spread a layer of the mascarpone cream on top. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cream.
- Finish: Dust the top with cocoa powder through a sieve. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
