Ingredients:
Buns:
- 2.5 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup plus 6 tablespoons melted butter
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 2 teaspoons natural vanilla extract
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 50 g cream cheese, softened
- 2 teaspoons natural vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon milk
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). For the cinnamon buns, combine flour and baking powder in a large bowl. Add milk, ¼ cup of melted butter, sour cream, and vanilla. Stir to form the dough. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface into a 40 x 30 cm rectangle.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Brush the dough with the remaining 6 tablespoons of melted butter. Sprinkle with the brown sugar mixture. Roll the rectangle into a roll.
- Cut the roll into 12 pieces. There are 2 baking options:
- You can place them cut-side down in a 25 cm round baking dish. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Or place each roll in a muffin tin. Reduce baking time to 12-15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, for the glaze, mix all ingredients in a medium bowl until smooth. Pour it over the hot Cinnamon Buns. Enjoy!
