Ingredients:
- 2 carrots (medium, peeled, cut into 3 cm pieces)
- 2 apples (juicy, firm, cored, and diced)
- 1 red grapefruit
- 1 orange
- 4 dates (optional; or 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds or pumpkin seeds (optional)
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon or ginger (optional)
- 1 cup water or ice cubes (optional)
Instructions:
- Juice the citrus fruits: Using a citrus juicer, extract the juice from the grapefruit and orange. Be sure to remove any pith or membranes.
- Blend: Pour the citrus juice into a blender. Add the remaining ingredients and blend on high speed until smooth. Blend quickly to preserve the vitamins and minerals.
- Serve: Pour the smoothie into glasses or mugs and garnish with a lime wedge. Serve with a straw.
