Breaded fish with potatoes and aioli

Ingredients:

  • 4 fillets of white fish, such as hake or cod
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 150 g wheat flour
  • Ground black pepper
  • 4 teaspoons of curry powder
  • 2 eggs
  • Olive oil
  • 4 small potatoes
  • Salt to taste

For the aioli sauce:

  • 200 ml olive oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Salt to taste

Preparation:

First, let’s make the aioli sauce:

Place the finely chopped garlic cloves together with the egg and salt in a blender and drizzle with olive oil. We start whipping, gradually pouring in the rest of the oil, until we get the desired consistency. At the end, add lemon juice and whisk a little more. Serve the aioli in a bowl and store in the refrigerator.

  1. Once this is done, we check if the fish fillets have bones, and rinse them with water. Put them in a bowl, pour lemon juice over them and leave them to soak while we fry the potatoes.
  2. Peel, wash and cut the potatoes into slices. Heat a frying pan with olive oil over high heat and, as soon as it starts to evaporate, reduce the heat to medium, add the potatoes to the pan and fry them, turning them occasionally so that they are baked evenly.
  3. As soon as we see that it is starting to turn golden, remove it, put it on kitchen napkins to remove excess oil and sprinkle with salt. After finishing frying the potatoes, keep the pan on the heat, because we will use this oil to cook the fish.
  4. Prepare a plate with flour, a small amount of salt, ground black pepper and curry, mixing everything well. After that, beat the eggs in a bowl.
  5. Roll the fish fillet first in the seasoned flour, then in the beaten egg. You need to make sure that both the flour and the egg perfectly cover the entire fish fillet.
  6. Place the fillet in the heated oil and fry for 4 minutes on each side. When everything is ready, put it on a plate lined with kitchen napkins.

When serving, add fried potatoes to the fillet, a bowl of aioli, as well as lemon slices.
