We invite you to prepare a delightful dish: Braised Chicken with Gravy.
Ingredients:
- 6 chicken thighs, bone-in, skinless
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups (450 ml) chicken broth
- ½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (130 g) flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp basil
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine paprika, chili powder, basil, and garlic powder.
- Place the chicken thighs in a bowl. Sprinkle a few pinches of the spice mixture over the chicken, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a large bowl, mix the remaining spices with the flour. Coat the chicken thighs with the seasoned flour mixture.
- Heat some butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken thighs for 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 5 minutes. Stir in 2–3 tablespoons of the seasoned flour mixture and cook for 3–4 minutes. Pour in the chicken broth and cook for 1 minute. Add the heavy cream and remaining butter, then cook for another minute.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the chicken thighs in a baking dish and pour the prepared gravy over them.
- Bake the chicken for 1 hour. Serve the dish warm.
