We suggest making French Bechamel sauce with nutmeg.
Ingredients:
- Flour – 4 tbsp
- Milk – 1 liter
- Butter – 100 g
- Nutmeg
- Ground white pepper
- Salt
Preparation:
- Sauté the flour in a saucepan or skillet with butter until golden brown.
- Gradually pour in room-temperature milk while constantly stirring, and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Place the skillet over low heat, add nutmeg, salt, and pepper. If needed, add more butter, and mix thoroughly.
- Remove from heat, let it cool, and allow the sauce to sit for a bit.
- Serve the classic Bechamel sauce either hot or cold, depending on the dish you’re preparing.
