Bechamel sauce with Nutmeg

We suggest making French Bechamel sauce with nutmeg.

Ingredients:

  • Flour – 4 tbsp
  • Milk – 1 liter
  • Butter – 100 g
  • Nutmeg
  • Ground white pepper
  • Salt

Preparation:

  1. Sauté the flour in a saucepan or skillet with butter until golden brown.
  2. Gradually pour in room-temperature milk while constantly stirring, and bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Place the skillet over low heat, add nutmeg, salt, and pepper. If needed, add more butter, and mix thoroughly.
  4. Remove from heat, let it cool, and allow the sauce to sit for a bit.
  5. Serve the classic Bechamel sauce either hot or cold, depending on the dish you’re preparing.
