Bacon-Wrapped Scallops with Maple Glaze

This elegant appetizer or main course features succulent scallops wrapped in crispy bacon and drizzled with a sweet and tangy maple glaze.

Ingredients:

  • 10 slices bacon, thin-cut
  • 10 large scallops
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Place bacon slices in a single layer on an ungreased baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 7-10 minutes or until partially cooked and slightly browned.
  4. Transfer bacon to paper towels and increase oven temperature to 200°C (400°F).
  5. Wrap each scallop with a slice of bacon and secure with toothpicks.
  6. Place bacon-wrapped scallops on a greased baking sheet.
  7. Bake at 200°C for 8-12 minutes or until scallops are opaque and firm.
  8. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, bring heavy cream to a boil.
  9. Reduce heat and simmer until reduced by 1/4. This should take about 8 minutes.
  10. Whisk in Dijon mustard, maple syrup, and salt.
  11. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes.
  12. Serve scallops drizzled with cream sauce and garnished with chopped parsley.
