April 3 – World Party Day

World Party Day, also known in the English-speaking world as P-Day, is an annual global celebration held on April 3. This event is aimed at enhancing leisure and enjoyment for people all around the world.

The first World Party Day took place on April 3, 1996. The event was inspired by the book Flight: A Quantum Fiction Novel by American author Vanna Bonta. The novel ends with a countdown to a massive synchronized event meant to unite all of humanity. This event is referred to as a “world party” as the opposite of a world war.

World Party Day has no political or religious associations—it is a celebration for everyone. Its motto is: “Party is the opposite of war.” The core idea is that passively promoting peace is ineffective, while positive actions and joyful gatherings are an ideal way to make the world a better place.

On April 3, people are encouraged to attend or host a party and simply have fun. It doesn’t matter whether you join a formal event, a big party, or celebrate with just a couple of close friends—or even alone. Any form of celebration is welcome, as long as it brings you joy.

In recent years, synchronized global events have become more popular. For example, in 2007, the Quadrille Dance Parade featured 24,000 people dancing at the same time.
