Let’s create a delicious homemade apple liqueur! Combining different apple varieties and warm spices like vanilla, cinnamon, and cloves will create a complex and flavorful spirit.
Ingredients:
- 0.5 kg apples
- 100-150g sugar
- A piece of cinnamon stick
- A piece of vanilla bean
- 2 cloves
- 125ml water
- 375ml food-grade alcohol
Instructions:
- Prepare the apples: Wash the apples and remove the stems and cores. No need to peel them.
- Cut the apples: Cut the apples into quarters or eighths.
- Combine ingredients: Place the apples in a large jar. Add the cloves, vanilla, sugar, and cinnamon (and cardamom if desired). Adjust the amount of sugar to your taste. If the apples are sour, add more sugar. If they are sweet and you prefer a less sweet liqueur, use less sugar.
- Add liquid: Pour warm (not boiling) water and alcohol over the apples and spices in the jar.
- Let it infuse: Seal the jar tightly and place it in a warm, dark place for 6-8 weeks.
- Strain and bottle: After the infusion period, strain the apple liqueur into a bottle.
- Age: Allow the liqueur to age for at least a month. For the best flavor, let it age for 2-3 months.
Your apple liqueur is ready! Enjoy!
